Pilar de la Horadada and Torre de la Horadada
The southernmost town of the Costa Blanca, where the beaches of Torre de la Horadada meet the border with Murcia.
Beaches and the sea
Pilar de la Horadada is the last town of the Alicante province before the Murcia region. Its coastline runs for more than four kilometres, with sandy beaches and small coves between low cliffs. The seaside village of Torre de la Horadada has a marina and takes its name from its watchtower, built in 1591 to guard the coast against pirates and today a protected monument.

Just north of the village, Las Higuericas beach is almost a kilometre of sand, backed by a park and a promenade that is popular for walking and cycling. Further north, Mil Palmeras has fine white sand where the municipality meets Orihuela Costa.

Everyday life
The town of Pilar de la Horadada lies a few minutes inland, with its shops, markets, restaurants, schools and health services, so the coast stays lively outside the summer too. The Mar Menor is a short drive south.
Murcia International Airport (Corvera) is about 45 km away and Alicante-Elche airport about 62 km, both reached by motorway.
Golf
Lo Romero Golf is within the municipality, and the courses of Orihuela Costa, such as Las Ramblas, Villamartín and Campoamor, are a short drive north. See our golf guide.
