Torrevieja
A lively coastal city on the southern Costa Blanca, between the Mediterranean and two salt lakes, with an international community and services all year round.
Beaches, coves and salt lakes
Torrevieja has around 20 km of coastline. Sandy town beaches such as Playa del Cura and Los Locos alternate with rocky stretches and small coves, and to the north are the long beach of La Mata and the low cliffs of Cabo Cervera. The seafront promenades run for kilometres along the shore.

Inland, the town sits between two salt lakes, the Laguna Salada de Torrevieja and the Laguna de La Mata. Together they form a natural park known for its flamingos and for the pink colour of the Torrevieja lake. Salt is still harvested there, and the salt industry is how the town grew.
Everyday life
Torrevieja has more than 100,000 residents from over 120 countries, so shops, restaurants, health centres and international services are open all year, not only in summer. The town has several marinas, a weekly market and a busy centre around the port and the promenade. The climate is mild, with around 300 days of sunshine a year.

Alicante-Elche airport is about 45 km to the north and Región de Murcia airport about an hour to the south-west. Guardamar del Segura is about 15 km north, and the beaches of Orihuela Costa start just to the south.
Golf
The courses of Orihuela Costa, such as Villamartín, Las Ramblas and Campoamor, are about 20 minutes south, and La Marquesa Golf in Ciudad Quesada is a short drive inland. See our golf guide.
